Barcelona have received a double boost ahead of the weekend as Robert Lewandowski and Dani Olmo have both returned to full training following their respective injury layoffs, with the duo expected to be available for selection.
Joan Garcia is also close to recovering from a knee issue, but the summer arrival will not be rushed back, with the club likely to take a cautious approach to his return.
However, Gavi, Marc-André ter Stegen, Andreas Christensen, Raphinha, and Pedri all remain sidelined. Marc Casado could again benefit from Pedri’s absence in midfield.
There are minor concerns over Lamine Yamal, who continues to manage a groin problem, but the teenage sensation is still expected to start in what is a must-win fixture for the reigning La Liga champions.
As for Elche, head coach Sarabia has no fresh injury concerns and is set to have a fully-fit squad to choose from. The visitors are likely to make changes from their Copa del Rey lineup, with top scorer Andre Silva (four goals in all competitions) retaining his place up front.
Héctor Fort, on loan from Barcelona, is eligible to face his parent club but is expected to start on the bench on Sunday.
